Artist's statement:
"I was born in the WNC mountains and grew up in a creative environment. Both my parents were artists. I was artistically inclined from an early age with a passion for the Native American culture. I started replicating old Eastern Woodland Indian pit-fired pottery and then had fun trying my hand at many other types of clay vessels over the years.
I became well known in the Art Doll world by specializing in Native American dolls and was inducted into NAIDA. My Art Dolls form part of many private collections, including those of several celebrities, around the world.
That led to opportunities to create original sculpts for some of the country's leading doll manufacturing companies.
My love of the Native American culture and the intrigue of the human face and form has stimulated my current works in bronze. Each work is created in clay, beginning as a concept in my mind, but finally formed by the interaction of hands, clay and soul."
